My artist/band is going to record traditional Inuit music and rhythms. I am going to call them SledgeRunner, the name often given to these nomadic people as they traveled by dog sled hauling their belongings. My (admittedly amateurish) sketch includes some snowcovered mountains, stars and and what is supposed to be a wolf howling in the outline of the moon...unfortunately the clouds in the moon look more like the wolf is vomiting, but hey... :) I've included a picture of a sledge (sled) and a traditional inuit drum and flute. Eager to hear ideas...
Thanks!
Cheryll,
ReplyDeleteVery unique selection of music. I went online to find a piece of your music selection so I could listen to it. I have always felt drawn to Native American Indian and Eskimo art. Your selection invoked me to learn more about the Inuit culture (thanks).
In your sketch the sled does stand out as the piece that invokes images of the Arctic culture. I like the thought of a wolf image in your sketch, have you thought that it could take more of a totem look as opposed to a realistic look?( Just a thought.)
I like how you have chosen to include drums and flute, because all the music I did listen to had the Inuit drums and flute in it.
Have you thought of which font your type will be? Maybe something like the “Lithos Pro” selection, I even found a site online that you can down load an “Inuit” font (planet-typography.com).
Looking forward to viewing your final montage.
